Scheduled Appointments

Career Center Coaches and Advisors provide 30 to 60-minute appointments via phone, ConexEd, or in-person to support students on a variety of topics, including resume building, interviewing, career exploration, and assessments and more!

To schedule an Appointment with a Career Center Staff member, please follow the steps below:

  • Step 2: Select the date for your appointmnet & the counselor/advisor (you can also leave the "select all" if staffing is not of preference)
  • Step 3: Select the reason for your appointment "Appointment Type"
  • Step 4: Select your meeting location preference 
  • Step 5: Select your date and time
  • Step 6: Add your phone number and attach any documents, if applicable
  • Step 7: Confirm your appointment by selecting “Make Appointment.”

You will receive a confirmation email with the link for virtual appointments or the location for in-person appointments. If you need to re-schedule, the confirmation email will have a link to re-schedule. Please make sure to upload any necessary documents in the file upload (resume/cover letter), so that our staff can best prepare to support you.

Application Assistance

Need help applying to West Los Angeles College? We're here to guide you through the steps to become a student! In this session, we can help you:

  • Complete the CCCApply online application
  • Understand residency and tuition information
  • Set up your student portal (LACCD SIS) and email
  • Review next steps, including orientation, assessment, and class registration
  • Answer general questions about programs, services, and financial aid

Bring with you: a valid email address and any personal information needed to complete the application (e.g., social security number if applicable).

Recommended for new, returning, or prospective students who want support with the enrollment process at WLAC.

Career Exploration/Career Advising

Plan your future with confidence. This one-on-one session with a Career Counselor or Advisor will support you in:

  • Identifying career goals and mapping out a clear pathway
  • Exploring majors and programs that align with your interests
  • Creating short- and long-term academic and career plans
  • Connecting to internships, job opportunities, and work-based learning
  • Navigating career transitions, job market trends, and decision-making

Bring with you: questions, concerns, or ideas about your future, we’ll help you turn them into a plan.

Career Assessment – Set up and Instructions

This appointment is the first step before you take any career assessment. Our team will help you get set up and give you access to any assessment site or materials. We will also give you the invoice that has to be paid at the business office in person.

When you are unsure about what type of job you want or what you would like to do next with your career, a career aptitude test can help you narrow down your job choices and choose a career path compatible with your interests, skills, values, and personality.

Career Counseling/SEP

Ready to clarify your academic and career path? In this one-on-one session with a Career Counselor, we will help you:

  • Explore careers that match your interests, skills, and values
  • Identify academic programs and majors that support your goals
  • Create or update your Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Understand graduation requirements and transfer options
  • Develop a clear roadmap that connects your coursework to your future career

  • Discuss virtual vs. in-person interview strategies
  • Get tips on professional dress, body language, and follow-up etiquette
  • Build confidence through mock interview practice and feedback

Bonus: We’ll show you how to access and complete a virtual mock interview using Symplicity’s Mock Interview Tool, which lets you record your responses and get feedback from our team.

Jobs Application assistance

Need help applying for a job or internship? During this one-on-one session, a Career Coach will guide you through the job application process, including:

  • Reviewing job descriptions and matching qualifications
  • Assisting with completing online or paper applications
  • Helping tailor your resume and cover letter for a specific role
  • Providing tips for applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Answering general questions about the hiring process

Job/Internship Pre-Screening

All interns must complete and clear pre-screening before submitting a resume or application. Please book this appointment if you are applying for a specific internship that requires a pre-screening.

MBTI Career Assessment

Work Experience

If you have general questions about the work experience education program and would like a 1-1 appointment, you can schedule a 20-min appointment to ask your questions. More details about the program are below.

Work Experience Education (WEE) provides a tremendous benefit to both students and employers. Students have an opportunity to explore their career path prior to graduation. Employers can preview talented students who are applying practical academic studies in their workplace.

Symplicity Support/Questions/Sign-in

Need help accessing your Job and Career Portal Symplicity account? This appointment is for students who need assistance signing in, creating/activating an account, navigating the platform, or posting their resume. Meet with a Career Center staff member to get step-by-step support and answers to your Symplicity questions.


Our policy is one appointment (walk-in or scheduled) per day, so please plan accordingly.

Walk-in Hours

Walk-in advising is designed to help you connect with a career advisor to ask basic career questions, explore career resources, or get a quick critique of your resume or cover letter.

Walk-in is available virtually through our Virtual Zoom Office or in-person in the Career Center.

  • All virtual walk-ins will be conducted privately on-line through our Virtual Office.
  • All in-person walk-ins will be conducted in the Career Center (TLC 220 - Map) in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Wearing a mask is required.

  • Each walk-in session is 10-15 minutes.
  • In-person: Mondays - Thursdays: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
  • Virtual: Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
  • Walk-ins are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • An active Symplicity account is required to check-in for all walk-ins. Log in to Symplicity and complete your student profile by activating or creating your account.
  • For a virtual walk-in session, before the meeting, email us your resume, cover letter, or questions you would like to discuss. The advisor will be able to pull up your document during the session.
  • For an in-person walk-in session, visit the Career Center in TLC 220 and email us any documents you would like your advisor to critique.

Career Center Virtual Office

The Career Center Virtual Office is available Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Virtual office sessions are appropriate for making appointments, quick and brief review of resume, discussing interviewing, strategizing networking opportunities, and answering quick questions, such as questions about our Job platform "Symplicity" or general questions about our services.

Virtual office sessions are generally about 15 minutes. Please review the instructions on how to schedule a longer appointment.
