Scheduled Appointments

Career Center Coaches and Advisors provide 30 to 60 minute appointments via phone, Zoom or in-person to support students on a variety of topics, including resume building, interviewing, career exploration and assessments.

To schedule an appointment:

QR Code leading to the Microsoft Booking page for the WLAC Career Center

2. Select your preferred appointment type and date. You can see more information about each type of appointment by clicking "Read more".

3. Answer all the questions and add notes with additional information for your appointment, such as what industry you're looking for employment in.

4. You will receive a confirmation email with the zoom link for virtual appointments or the location for in-person appointments. If you need to re-schedule, the confirmation email will have a link to re-schedule. That email will also have a list of any documents you should send us before your appointment, so that our staff can best prepare to support you.

Different kinds of appointments:

Resume Review: Bring us a copy of your resume and one of us will assess it and give you suggestions as to how it could be improved to ensure it is viewed more positively by a prospective employer. If you already have a resume, please email it to us before the meeting. If you do not have a resume, we will help you create one.
Career Exploration and Advising: Let us help you explore majors and careers, show you how to enhance your skills, teach you how to engage in new opportunities, and challenge you to excel as you move forward through Career Planning.
Internship and Job Search: This appointment provides an overview of key steps in the job search process, including job search myths, a discussion of various job search methods, essential job search tools and strategies, and how to make the process more manageable! You can also use this appointment to receive help to complete job applications, just send us the job listing before the appointment!
Mock Interview: Strengthen and test your interviewing skills by practicing them in a “mock” interview setting. It is helpful if you already have a job listing in mind for which you are "interviewing" for. Please send us your resume and the job listing via email prior to the appointment so your mock interviewer can prepare more directed questions.
General Career Services Support: We can help you answer any questions you have about our services, how to view and register events, what is happening in our center, how to follow us on social media, and other general questions.
Work Experience Education General Questions: If you have general questions about the work experience education program and would like a 1-1 appointment, you can schedule a 20-minute appointment to ask your questions. You can find more information about the Work Experience program here: https://www.wlac.edu/academics/coop-ed.
Cover Letter Support: Cover letters are an important component of your job-search materials to convey your value to employers. We can help you review or create a cover letter. Please be sure to provide us with the job listing for the position that you are planning to apply.
Career Assessment - Set up and Instructions: This appointment is the first step before you take any career assessment. Our team will help you get set up and give you access to any assessment site or materials. We will also give you the invoice that has to be paid at the business office in person. You can select which assessment type you're interested in taking, or select "I don't know" if you're not sure. You can find more information about each assessment here: https://www.wlac.edu/student-services/career-center/career-exploration.

Our policy is one appointment (walk-in or scheduled) per day, so please plan accordingly.
