FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN OF ANY AGE or INCOME

First-time freshmen of any age and income who commit to Full-Time enrollment may qualify for FREE TUITION through the Promise Program at West LA College. Promise students also receive Priority Registration and a funded voucher for transportation, bookstore supplies, or dining in the Wildcat Cafe. Students must have California residency or meet AB 540 status, received a high school diploma (or equivalent), and be considered a first-time college student.

To Qualify for West LA College Promise , you must:

  1. Complete the LACCD application
  2. Complete the West LA College Online Orientation
  3. Complete either the FAFSA or CA Dream Act
  4. Complete the LACCD Transition Class (free, online)
  5. Attend West as a full-time student starting in the Fall

Important Note: Free tuition is still available for students through the California Promise Grant

To Qualify for 2 Years of $0 Tuition:

Students who complete their first Fall semester in full-time status with a 2.0 GPA or higher will earn FREE TUITION in the following Spring semester.

Students who complete their first academic year in full-time status with a 2.0 GPA or higher can qualify for a 2nd year of free tuition.
