New Certificate: Essentials of Video Game Programming

Program Description
West Los Angeles College’s certificate of achievement in “Essentials of Video Game Programming” will provide students with basic skills to meet the growing employment demands in the video game industry. This certificate will prepare students for entry level employment positions and internships in video game companies as programmers. Training will center around iterative game design & prototyping, collaboration, communication, and familiarity with the programming languages used in creating games and digital entertainment. Students will study programming languages such as C# and C++ in conjunction with specific game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine, while building and testing original game designs individually and in teams.

- CA Residents: $46 / unit (most classes are 3 units)
CA Residents of any age who are first-time freshmen may qualify for the $0 TUITION PROMISE PROGRAM and/or fee waivers, as well as other financial aid available after filing the FAFSA - Out-of-State Residents: $282 / unit (most classes are 3 units)
Out-of-state students may qualify for grants and other financial aid after submitting the FAFSA. Additionally, many West classes use $0 cost online textbooks and materials.
