Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T)
The Associate in Arts Degree in Social Work and Human Services for Transfer (AA-T) is designed to provide a solid, multi-disciplinary lower-division preparation for students who intend to transfer to a California State University (CSU) for a bachelor’s degree in Social Work or similar major. This degree is designed to provide a clear pathway to a CSU and guarantees admissions to a CSU.
Although, students are guaranteed admissions, it is not to any particular campus or program in the CSU system. Students are encouraged to visit the Transfer Center for complete information regarding transfer requirements for the institution of their choice. Students interested in transfer are also encouraged to consult the Counseling Office for individualized educational planning in order to facilitate a seamless transition.
To earn the Associate in Arts in Social Work and Human Services Degree, students must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses
- Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0
- Minimum grade of "C" (or "P") for each course in the major, and
- Completion of the CalGETC GE Pattern.

Certified Wellness Coach Program
Our Social Work and Human Services (AA-T) is designated as a CA Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) Certified Wellness Coach I program.
What does a Certified Wellness Coach do? Certified Wellness Coaches (CWCs) provide entry-level behavioral health services to children and youth up to age 25. They work alongside school psychologists, counselors, social workers, and health staff in schools, as well as licensed professionals in health centers and youth-serving organizations. They support youth before clinical help is needed, making it easier to access care and build healthy habits early on. Certified Wellness Coaches must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Receive an associate’s degree or higher in Social Work and Human Services, Psychology, or Addiction Students
- Completed at least 150 hours of field experience (Experience must be providing direct pre-clinical behavioral health services to clients in school-linked/school-based organizations, non-profits, community organizations, and/or health centers/clinics within the last six years.)
