CENTER OPENING: 9:00 - 10:00 AM:
West welcomes Assemblymember Isaac Bryan and other distinguished speakers to the opening of The California Center for Climate Change Education at West Los Angeles College. The Center is a first-of-its-kind, forward-looking resource that will help prepare students for good-paying, fulfilling careers in the clean energy and climate technology industries.
The Center was funded with a state allocation of $5 million as part of AB 1913, sponsored by Asm. Isaac G. Bryan and $1.3 million from the federal government were sponsored by then-Rep. Karen Bass (and now City of Los Angeles Mayor) and Sen. Alex Padilla. The federal funding was approved in the Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023.
EARTH DAY FAIR: 10:30 - 1:00 PM

Executive Officer of the Baldwin Hills Conservancy and other distinguished speakers. This event is themed "“Committed to Create Climate Resilient Communities” and is coordinated by Greener Way Associates.

ART SHOW: 11:30 - 3:30 PM
The WLAC Gallery is showcasing the works of differently able artists in "Soft Geometry, Random Texts, Ninjas, Dryads, and other Entities: New Work by Five Artists from the Tierra Del Sol Progressive Art Studios" – an exhibition curated by Doug Harvey. The exhibition will run from April 20 to May 7, 2023 and will be open on Saturdays 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and by special arrangement. For more information, email @email or @email

Free in Parking Structure immediately next to the complex (there is only 1 parking structure on campus)...Enter from Overland. Turn right on Albert Vera at the Baseball Field. Go all the way up the hill past the intersection to the entrance of the Parking Structure. Park on Level 2. Exit to the walkway and follow the signs.
The Culver City Green Bus will bring you to the entrance of the College on Overland .
