VACCINATION & TESTING REQUIREMENTS: Things to Know

Excerpt from email sent to students "No later than October 8, 2021, students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility must: Create a profile account with the District’s official testing vendor Biocept; Get a free COVID-19 test with the vendor - only the vendor-approved tests will be accepted by the District.
Prior to October 18, 2021, students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility must: Upload your vaccination information (if you are vaccinated); Or have a medical or religious exemption request approved by the District - you must allow at least two days for processing. NOTE: ALL students who are granted an exemption still must be tested weekly by the District’s official testing vendor

  • Masks are required when you are inside buildings, including in the classroom, regardless of your vaccination status...view policy

FREE TUTORING - Protect Your GPA

Penji provides the easiest way for students to connect with a Learning Center tutor. The Learning Center has a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled tutors waiting to support your success in a variety of subjects and courses.

Students can use Penji to schedule tutoring appointments, join drop-in sessions, and much more. Available in App Store and Google Play.

SCHOLARSHIPS

LAPTOP SCHOLARSHIP - To apply:

  • Log into the SIS Portal (mycollege.laccd.edu)
  • Click the “SCHOLARSHIPS” tile
  • Click “Students: Log In” link
  • Click “Laptop Scholarship”. Enter the information on the 4 pages and press SUBMIT - don't worry, it only takes about 10 minutes.

REAL ESTATE MAJORS SCHOLARSHIP - Applicants must satisfactorily complete at least one three-unit college course in Real Estate prior to applying for scholarship. For further details and Application please visit Foundationccc.org

Scholarship Award: $600 - $1,200 per academic year. Qualified applicants will be awarded on a first come, first get basis through April 30, 2022. Email completed applications to the WLAC Financial Aid office at financialaid@wlac.edu

HOSPITALITY PROGRAM Students Hired  

The WLAC Hospitality Program and Career Center have been working in collaboration with The Shay, A Destination By Hyatt Hotel. West provided classes to train students to work at the hotel and The Shay provided a job fair where the students were invited to interview. So far, The Shay/Hyatt Hotel has hired at 5 West students to work full-time.
