TRiO SSS is designed to increase retention, graduation, and transfer rates for West Los Angeles College students.

If you are planning to go to a four-year college or university, we provide:

• Tutorial services.
• Direct financial assistance (grant aid) to qualified SSS participants.
• Academic, financial, or personal counseling.
• Assistance in transferring to four-year universities.
• Information about career options.
• Mentoring.
• Academic enrichment workshops.
• Field trips and cultural events.

To qualify for the program, participants must:

• Be enrolled at West Los Angeles College.
• Demonstrate academic need.
• Be available to attend workshops and tutoring at WLAC.
• Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
• Must either be:
  • A first-generation college student (neither parents have graduated from a four-year institution).
  • Low-income (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education).
  • Physicall/learning disabled.
