The following
material describes the current regulation governing
parking on campus. Please read carefully and retain
for future reference. If you have any questions, please

GENERAL
PARKING POLICIES
Parking regulations are provided to ensure safe and
accessible parking to students and staff at WLAC. Students
and staff are required to adhere to all parking regulations
and posted signs throughout the campus.
STUDENT
PARKING
- All motor
vehicles parked on the campus parking lots must have
a valid parking permit for the current semester.
- The parking
permit must be prominently displayed from the rear
view mirror of all motor vehicles when parked on campus.
The exception is motor drive cycles, which must display
their decal on the front shock sleeve. Note: The hang-tag
permit must be removed from the rear view mirror before
the vehicle is in motion per 26708(A)(I)C.V.C.
A valid parking permit does not guarantee a place
to park. Parking availability is on a first come,
first-serve basis. There are no refunds for parking
fees, after the first two weeks of class.
- Lost,
stolen, or destroyed parking permits are the responsibility
of the owner. Replacement decals will cost $5.00 upon
presentation of the original receipt. Permits must
be affixed to the vehicle of the person requesting
such replacement immediately upon receipt of the parking
permit.
- Temporary
(1-2 day) permits are available in the College Police
Office (Bldg. A-9) on an as needed basis.
- WLAC parking
permits are valid at all Los Angeles Community College
District Colleges except Trade Technical College.
- Parking
lots #5 and #7 are designated for student parking.
Student Lot #5 is for "privilege permit"
parking only. All vehicles must drive in accordance
with traffic patterns an park head-in only into marked
parking stalls.
- Students
are not allowed to park in stalls designated for "staff
only". Violators will be cited.
- All State
of California Vehicle Code Regulations will apply
to all vehicles being driven and parked on the campus
of WLAC. Parking regulations are strictly enforced
in accordance to C.V.C. 21113(A)
- The speed
limit in campus parking lots is 10 m.p.h.
- Students
issued a citation for a parking violation and feel
that the citation was given in error, may address
their appeals to the College Police Department (Bldg.
A-9) within (21) days from the issuance of the citation
or (21) days from the mailing of the notice of delinquent
parking violation. Failure to respond within these
time requirements will eliminate your opportunity
to contest the citation.
FACULTY/STAFF
PARKING
Faculty and staff parking are provided in specific designated
college parking lots. All vehicles parking in these
lots must display an authorized, current staff parking
permit. Requests for Staff Parking Permits are to be
directed to the WLAC Police department (BLDG. A-9) EXT.
4314. Staff wishing to drive on campus to pick-up or
drop off large items must notify the WLAC Police Office
for approval prior to entry onto the campus in other
than regular authorized travel areas.
DISABLED
PARKING
Disabled parking spaces are available in Lots #I, #2,
#3, (East of Men's Physical Education Bldg.),#4 (East
of Women's Physical Education Bldg.), Lot #8, B-Street
(West of HLRC Bldg.), rear of HLRC Bldg., and East of
Dental Hygiene Bldg. (A-9) Any vehicle parked in a disabled
parking stall on campus must display a State of California
Disable Parking Placard or a WLAC Handicap Permit. Requests
for disabled parking are to be directed to Disabled
Student Services (Bldg. A-13). Students who possess
a State Disable Placard or WLAC Disabled Parking Permit
are not exempt from student parking fees. They also
must prominently display a current WLAC Parking Permit.
METERED
PARKING
Metered parking is available in Lot #8 (Located South
of the HLRC Bldg.) Meters are in operation as posted
on each meter. Vehicles parking at a broken or non functional
parking meter are not allowed and are subject to receiving
a citation, Vehicles with WLAC Parking Permits must
also pay the meter if parked in a metered parking stall.
MOTORCYCLE/MOTORBIKE
PARKING
Is allowed at a designated location on the college in
Student Lot #5 (West comer, adjacent to Child Development
Center). Motorcycles must display their sticker permits
on the front shock sleeve. Motorcycle/motorbike parking
is prohibited in all other college campus locations.
VISITOR
PARKING PERMITS
May be obtained for authorized college visitors. These
may be obtained at the WLAC Police Department (Bldg.
A-9). Activity supervisors or individuals requesting
visitor parking permits for authorized groups or individual
guests must submit requests at least (5) working days
in advance.
STREET
PARKING
Street Parking is permitted on perimeter streets, Sophomore
and Freshman Drives without permits and at your own
discretion. CAUTION: Failure to adhere to the posted,
"No Stopping" signs will subject you to receive
a citation.
PARKING
LOT DISCLAIMER
The Board of Trustees or the District will not be responsible
for damage, loss of vehicle or its contents unless the
District is liable under the Government Codes, including
but not limited to Government Codes 810 to 966.6 inclusive.
