Piano Your Teachers Never
Taught You |
|
Todd
has taught more than 30,000 students—from beginners to those with years of
lessons—to play the piano in just one day. He invites you to see why his
students proclaim, “I’ve learned more in three hours than I did in three
years of lessons.” In this fun-filled workshop, you’ll learn 72 chords, 156
hand positions and how to read music from a lead sheet and fake books. Find
out how to play any popular song in any key, and the tools of the trade that
will make you sound like a pro. Todd will teach you how to play several
songs in class using mock keyboards, then you’ll perfect your technique at
home by using an exclusive audio CD and study book. This class also prepares
you to take Todd’s other piano workshops. Note: If you can read the notes C,
D, E, F, G, A, B, then you already know enough to enroll. If you don’t, ask
how to get a free prep pamphlet when you register. *$25 material fee
payable to instructor for book and CD.
Todd
Walker has over 30 years’ experience as a professional musician. He holds
four degrees from the Grove School of Music and has been teaching one-day
piano workshops since 1995.

How to Play Piano by Ear |
|
Do you have what it takes to learn to play
music by ear? Take this test: go to your piano and experiment until you can
play the melody to “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Hint: start on middle C. If
you can pick out the melody on your own, you’re ready to take this workshop
to learn how to add the chords to a song. Most people believe that playing
by ear is a special talent that you either have or don’t. Not true! Anyone
can learn to play by ear, and in just half a day. In this class, you’ll
learn how to pick tunes out of your head, get songs off the radio, transpose
and use the Circle of Fifths. In short, you’ll learn much of what
professional players do—and what no private piano teacher will ever show
you. You should already have a fundamental grasp of chords (if not, take
“Piano Your Teachers Never Taught You” first). Todd promises you’ll learn
more about piano in these three hours than you would taking a year of
lessons. *$25 material fee payable to instructor for for home study
workbook and CD.
