Drawing & Painting From the Imagination

Let your imagination run wild! Become aware of the unconscious activity often associated with abstraction. Look into works by O’Keefe, Kandinsky and Miro—artists who explored lines, shapes and tones inspired by nature, with distinctly different results. Then work independently to create one drawing and one painting. All levels welcome in this fascinating course.  *$45 fee (cash only) for materials used in class, payable to instructor first class meeting.

Lisa Quagliozzi has a fine art degree from The Art Institute of Boston. She has taught for LAUSD, Brooks College, Palos Verdes Art Center and other schools. Visit her website at www.lisaqartmania.com.

Draw the Line Here!

It’s time to draw the line here and now! In this basic drawing class, you’ll be introduced to composing with line, shape, tone, and color. Using still-life setups and our environment as sources of visual inspiration, you’ll find out how to work with perspective, positive and negative shape, and texture as you explore the use of traditional drawing materials. This is a great class for beginners, says Lisa. Bring 2-3 interesting objects to first class. Note:  This class is held off campus in Santa Monica. Directions provided upon registration.  *$40 fee (cash only) for materials used in class, payable to instructor first class meeting

One-Stroke can be used for painting wall borders, murals, ceramic pots, glass, concrete and a whole host of surfaces. *$15 material fee payable to instructor.
