ETUDES Classic Technical Requirements


General Information:

This is a 6-Week class starting 1/2/2007, ending 2/10/2007. This course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required. 

The course begins on January 2. 
Students who do not login or email the instructor by January 5 will be dropped.

Course Description:

Note: This language workshop uses multimedia (VCR, computers and cassettes) to enhance instruction. Students must be enrolled in a Spanish 21 class to attend this lab section.

This is a mediated, independent study course which allows students to enhance their Spanish language skills through audio, video and computer work in the language lab. The course content is directly related to the level of the foreign language class a student is concurrently enrolled in and the textbook being used for that course. This is a credit/no credit course.


Required Materials:

VISTAS: Introducción a la lengua española 2nd Ed., Blanco, Donley.

EN LINEA code + Vistas Student text + Vistas WebSAM code, ISBN# 1-59334-801-0. This package option has a student textbook which is optional for the class.

EN LINEA code + Vistas WebSAM code, ISBN# 1-59334-800-2. This package option does not have a student textbook. You can buy these packages at West Los Angeles College bookstore, (310) 287-4560 or by contacting Vista Higher Learning, (800) 648-7375 or online at http://www.VHLDirect.com/westla/.

Students will access EN LÍNEA, the electronic version of the printed Vistas 2nd ed., an optional textbook, as their homework. EN LÍNEA delivers its components entirety online with automatic scoring, plus includes the complete Fotonovela Video. It is required the use of a microphone to interact online with classmates and the instructor.


Course Requirements:

At least two hours per week of online lab activity is required to complete the course requirement of a minimum of 32 online lab hours. The course content is directly related to the level of your Spanish 1 class in which you are concurrently enrolled, and with the Vistas 2nd Ed. textbook being used for that course. Vistas Web SAM is the name of your Lab online class. This is a credit /no credit class.
