MUSIC 101 – FUNDAMENTALS OF MUSIC

General Information:

This is a 6-Week class starting 1/2/2007, ending 2/10/2007. This course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required.

The course begins on January 2. Students who do not login or email the instructor by January 5 will be dropped.

Course Description:

Basic rudiments of musical notation, scales, keys, intervals, common musical terms and elementary keyboard are studied. The student in this course will be required to spend additional time in the Learning Resources Center with audio-visual and computer assisted instruction materials.

Required Materials:

Foundations of Music, 5th edition, Nelson & Christensen, 2003, Thompson/Schirmer, ISBN 0-534-60003-4.
