ECONOMICS 1 – PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS I (UC:CSU) – 3 UNITS
This introductory microeconomics course provides an understanding of basic economic principles and forces, which govern the production, and distribution of goods and services. Topics include: forms of business organizations, the role of government in the economic system, value and price in a free enterprise system, labor/management relations and contemporary economic developments.

ENGLISH 28 – INTERMEDIATE READING AND COMPOSITION – 3 UNITS
Prerequisite: Completion of English 21 with a grade of “C” or better or appropriate placement level demonstrated through the English assessment process.
This course meets the AA reading and writing requirement. English 28 students practice in paragraph construction and essay writing, with an emphasis on critical thinking and critical reading of non-fiction essays and books.

ENGLISH 101 –COLLEGE READING AND COMPOSITION (CSU) –3 UNITS
Prerequisite: Completion of English 28 with a grade of "C" or better or appropriate placement level demonstrated through the English assessment process.
In English 101 you will develop argument and research essays, learn critical research skills, and critique a novel. This course will expose you to a variety of cultural arguments in advertising, newspapers, periodicals, and the Internet, and prepare you to interact critically with them.

This course covers the application of tactics and strategies to various types of fires. It is oriented toward public safety departments and other agencies that cross-train law enforcement and fire-fighting personnel.

This course will survey information regarding personal and community health, and basic principles of healthful living. Such subjects as drug and alcohol abuse, cancer, AIDS, nutrition, diet, personal care and consumer health will be covered.

LEARNING SKILLS 480C – INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET LITERACY III – 1 UNIT (NDA)
Note: Learning Skills 480A and B are not prerequisites for Learning Skills 480C.
This course is the third in a three-part series that offers a thorough introduction to the Internet and World Wide Web. This course provides students with the necessary skills to recognize, understand, and make best use of the many research and communication resources available online. Course topics include: modes of online communication; listservs; newsgroups; blogs; chatrooms; instant messaging; the future of the Internet and the latest technological advances. To gain the greatest benefit, students are encouraged to enroll in all three courses in sequence.

This course provides an analysis of the purposes, principles and types of discussions. Emphasis is placed on developing skills to assume roles of leadership and active participation. THEATER 100 – INTRODUCTION TO THEATRE (UC:CSU) – 3 UNITS
This course will introduce you to the theatre and related industries. You will learn to become more aware of the components constituting an artistic entity and to intelligently and objectively evaluate a professional and non-professional performance for the stage. We will study the historical developments in Western dramatic literature and theatrical productions from the Greeks through today. We will also touch on the historical relationship and contemporary impact theatre has had on the film and television industries.
