CSIT 980 – INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SECURITY I

This course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required.
Students who do not email instructor by September 8 will be dropped.
Course Description: Prerequisite: CS 965 or equivalent experience. This course introduces the basic concepts of computer security. Students will learn a full range of security concepts & techniques and apply them to the most popular operating systems used today. The topics include: Vulnerabilities and Attacks, Cryptographic Methods, Public Key Infrastructure, Certificate Management, Access Control and Authentication, Network Infrastructure Security and Security Policy. This course, combined with CS985 is designed to help candidates preparing to take CompTIA Security+ and MCSA Security Specialization certification exam. It is one of the courses leading to AA degree/Certificate in Network and Security management.
