Course Description:

This course introduces students to some of the great civilizations of the world. The beliefs and aspirations of such cultures as ancient Egypt and Greece, as well as Africa, India and pre-conquest Mesoamerica will be revealed through a study of their visual arts.

Course Requirements:

The student is responsible for material covered in the textbook and the online lectures. Course assignments consist of a museum research paper involving one mandatory class meeting at the LA County Museum of Art; two 50-question multiple choice tests; 10 short essay assignments; and a 100-question multiple choice final exam.
