CSIT 965 – Introduction to Microsoft Networks
General Information:
This course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required.
Students who do not email instructor by February 19th will be dropped.
Course Description: Prerequisite: CS 901 (or CS 902) and CS 934 or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of PC hardware architecture and Windows operating system. This course is designed
to provide students with the background necessary to understand the local
area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) in the Microsoft Certified
System Engineer certification program. It covers networking hardware devices
& cables, LAN and WAN protocols & services, Wired and Wireless
networking protocols & standards, and Network security and troubleshooting.
This course also covers network topics in the CompTIA A+ & Network+
certification exam. Required Materials: Network+ multimedia training CDs with Course Simulation (Lecture), Lab Simulation and Exam Simulation.
