ACCOUNTING 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACCOUNTING I
General Information: This
course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required.
Newly enrolled students must email the instructor to confirm enrollment. Please do this now by clicking here: montourc@lattc.edu. Students who do not email instructor by February 19th will be dropped.
Course Description: This course emphasizes basic accounting theory and practices which include an analysis of records of original entry and their relationship to the general ledger, controlling accounts and subsidiary ledgers, voucher system, periodic adjustments, worksheets, financial statements and closing the ledger. Required Materials: Accounting
(Chapters 1 - 26) by Horngren, Harrison and Bamber; Sixth Edition, Recommended Materials: Optional Working Papers: Accounting. Course Requirements: This course can be completed independently online by reading the text material, reading online class notes, completing the assignments, and verifying your results with solution material. There will also be an online group project. Two midterms and the final exam will be online. Grading Policy: Forum Participation (Active participation in the Online Discussion Forums scheduled periodically throughout the semester.) Homework (Students will be required to answer specific questions pertaining to one of the Problems assigned at the end of each chapter.) Quizzes (True/False and Multiple-Choice questions given at the end of each chapter.) Mid-Term (Chapters 1-5.) Final (Comprehensive from Selected Chapters.) Back to the WLAC Online Courses Website |
