This course takes place entirely online. No on-campus visits are required. 

The course begins on July 5.  You must access the course by July 10.

Course Description:

Note: Learning Skills 480A and B are not prerequisites for Learning Skills 480C.

This course is the third in a three-part series that offers a thorough introduction to the Internet and World Wide Web. This course provides students with the necessary skills to recognize, understand, and make best use of the many research and communication resources available online. Course topics include: modes of online communication; listservs; newsgroups; blogs; chatrooms; instant messaging; the future of the Internet and the latest technological advances. To gain the greatest benefit, students are encouraged to take all three courses in the series.


Required Materials:

There is one required textbook for all three courses (LSK 480ABC): Internet Literacy, 4th edition, by Fred T. Hofstetter. McGraw-Hill, 2006. ISBN#: 0072260610
