West, established in 1969 by the State of California, is located minutes from Playa Del Rey beach, major shopping malls, and movie and production studios including Sony Pictures. Close to several major freeways, it is an easy commute from here to Disneyland, Magic Mountain, UCLA, USC, the LAX airport, Downtown Los Angeles, and many other notable attractions.


We are a two-year community college awarding Associate Degrees and Job Skill Certificates. For many, West serves as an affordable gateway to prominent universities including UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, California State University Northridge, California State University Los Angeles, USC, Stanford, and many other California and U.S. universities. By completing general education requirements through West, a student can then transfer to a university as a Junior and complete a Bachelor's Degree or higher.


All courses at West are taught by faculty, typically with a Masters Degree or higher, from notable universities around the country. The college is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
