“THE RAPE OF THE SUMERIANS:

   LOOTING THE IRAQ MUSEUM”

   Candlelight Vigil Thurs, Apr 10 to

   Commemorate 5th Anniversary of Museum Looting

   This exhibition is the second presentation of WLAC  

   Instructor Lucy Blake-Elahi’s series: The Rape of the

   Sumerians: Looting the Iraq Museum.

   The exhibition and reception on Thursday, April 10 are timed to connect with

   the international Candlelight Vigil to raise awareness about art theft in

   general and the damage to the Iraq Museum collection.

Sony Pictures Entertainment in partnership with the Television Academy Foundation is offering a Student Diversity Fellowship designed to provide students currently enrolled in West Los Angeles Community College with in-depth exposure to professional television production, techniques and practices. Students must be currently enrolled in West Los Angeles Community College to be eligible.

 

WLAC TECH FAIR - APR 21 TO MAY 1

The WLAC second annual Tech Fair showcase how technology is used in the classroom, online, and hybrid environment to enhance student success and encourage student learning.  The Fair will have presentations on ways to incorporate technology into education and teaching.  All sessions are open to faculty and staff who are able to attend.  Faculty can file for Flex Credit for attending workshops.

Watch for the Tech Fair brochure with the workshop schedule in your mailboxes.  The Fair is made possible in part by the Title V Cooperative and Title V grants.  ~Mary-Jo Apigo
