ORDER YOUR COMMENCEMENT REGALIA

 

The Bookstore is now taking orders for Commencement regalia rentals. 

 

Orders placed by May 1:  Bachelor - $15; Master - $25; Doctor - $35

 

Orders placed after May 1:  Bachelor - $30; Master - $54; Doctor - $75

Regalia will be available for pick up by June 8.  The Bookstore will remain open until 8:00 pm after the Commencement ceremony to accept returns.

 

WEST LEADS DISTRICT IN RECYCLEMANIA

In the last few weeks of the competition, West LA is a leader in the district, but we still need to make that extra push to get to the top.  Keep up the good work!  A clean West L.A. College is our goal!

WLAC MS WALK TEAM It's time again to register for the WLAC Team to walk to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Join the WLAC team or sponsor a walker. The walk will be at the Rose Bowl on April 19. To sign up, contact team captain Christina Misner in Administrative Services, ext. 4368.

Put on your shades, because West LA's going solar!  Thanks to the solar panels on the new parking structure, at 9 am, the morning sun is helping us generate 160 kilowatt-hours of power. 

 

 

FACULTY / STAFF LUNCH YOGA

 

Starting April 16, and meeting every Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in FA 104 (except the 3rd Thursday of the month) Nancy Sander will teach a beginner/restorative yoga class for faculty and staff only.  Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing, and should refrain from eating before class.  No shoes or socks please.

Champs Off the Field:  

The Cat in the Hat met the Wildcats earlier this month at Shenandoah Elementary School to

commemorate the 104th birthday of Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss).

The visit was an extension of the year old reading program started by West Athletic Director Steve Aggers. West athletes regularly share their time reading stories to children at the West Child Development Center.

 

Track & Field:  

Aysha Moultrie Wins SoCal Heptathlon Championship

Sophomore Moultrie won the heptathlon at the Southern California Championships on March 24-25, leading a one-three finish for the Wildcats.
