AN INCENTIVE TO ENROLL FULL-TIME

Study after study demonstrates that students who attend full-time are more likely to achieve their certificate, degree or transfer goal. To encourage more students to take on 12 or more units at West, the college is offering a free Fall 2016 parking permit to students who are taking 12 or more units at West this Fall. The pass must be claimed by September 12, 2016. other rules apply - learn more

prof cultonThe college recently received a letter from Universidad Potificia de Salamanca praising professor Josefina Culton for the quality of the Summer in Spain, study abroad experience she has provided to West students for over 10 years. "Her professionalism, dedication and service to students, and skills provided an unmatched experience for both student and colleagues from UPSA." The letter continued to say that UPSA has welcomed studentd from many other institutions, but in rare occasions have they "seen such an outstanding program, in terms of organization and executition..."

Bill M“Without out Mr. McKillian’s presence, it may not have been possible for me to take the basic steps to further my education … I believe that Mr. McKillian’s commitment to provide superior services is second nature to him, and he doesn’t realize the actual impact that his concern and stellar performance has had on my family,” wrote West student and war veteran Gina. Due to complications from PTSD and physical disabilities, she described how navigating the usual enrollment and information processes is far more stressful for her than the average person. Nearly ready to give up, she found Bill McKillian, West’s Veteran Certifying Official. Now, 18 months later, Gina and her daughter are thriving students at West while her oldest daughter, also advised by Mr. McKillian, successfully transferred to a university.
