Phyllis D. Braxton will assume the position of Vice President of Student Services at West Los Angeles College effective March 1, 2013. RELAY VICTORIES AT WSC MEET

Track MeetAt the multi-college meet held at West on Friday, February 22, West men took first in the 4x400 and 1600 sprint medly. In the later, they had the fastest time in the state.

The ladies won the 4x100 and the 800 meter sprint medley.

Athletic Field  

ATHLETIC FIELD & TRACK CLOSURES
updated Dec.7, 2011

The Athletic Field & Track are closed to walker / joggers Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm (Simon Bolivar Soccer League) and week days from 1:00 - 3:00pm (WLAC Soccer Class). In January, the track is closed week days from 12:00 - 5:00pm (WLAC Track & Feild practice)

College and community organizations using the field may close the gates earlier than the times stated above to prepare for their events. Additionally, the events may run over their time slots.

Please check back regulary for updates to the Athletics Field & Track schedule.

The track opens at 6:30am and closes at dark. Personal trainers who charge their clients must rent time on the track or any other athletic facility. Use of the turf field requires a permit.

Walkers and joggers are also welcome to use the perimeter of the campus and College Blvd which connect the campus to Jefferson.
If your dog is with you, please keep him/her on a leash and scoop the poop. Thanks.

NEW FOUNTAIN ENHANCES CAMPUS

Kudos to the Plant Facilities crew for their lovely landscaping and installaton of the new fountain between the CE and SC buildings.

The fountain was donated by West President Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh in memory of his father Shukri S. Abu-Ghazaleh whose voice, he said, is still a strong motivating force in his life.
