The West Los Angeles College women’s track and field team won the 2013 Western States Conference Championships on Friday with 167 points, defeating Ventura and Glendale who each had 111 points.

This marks the 4th title in a row for the ladies program, which is the longest winning streak by any women’s team in the 33 year history of the Western State conference.

The men’s team finished 2nd with 151 points, a mere 7 points behind Glendale won the title with a total of 158 points.  The combined track and field title went to West LA College for the 6th year in a row. 

The top 6 finishers in each event qualified for the Southern California Prelims, which will take place at Antelope Valley College.  West LA, who is ranked 7th in the state on the women’s side and 10th in the state on the men’s side had 13 women and 14 men qualify for the SoCal meet which takes place this Saturday, May 4th at 9am.

Athletic Field  

ATHLETIC FIELD & TRACK CLOSURES
updated Dec.7, 2011

The Athletic Field & Track are closed to walker / joggers Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm (Simon Bolivar Soccer League) and week days from 1:00 - 3:00pm (WLAC Soccer Class). In January, the track is closed week days from 12:00 - 5:00pm (WLAC Track & Feild practice)

College and community organizations using the field may close the gates earlier than the times stated above to prepare for their events. Additionally, the events may run over their time slots.

Please check back regulary for updates to the Athletics Field & Track schedule.

The track opens at 6:30am and closes at dark. Personal trainers who charge their clients must rent time on the track or any other athletic facility. Use of the turf field requires a permit.

Walkers and joggers are also welcome to use the perimeter of the campus and College Blvd which connect the campus to Jefferson.
If your dog is with you, please keep him/her on a leash and scoop the poop. Thanks.
