CALL
FOR PRESENTERS - WLAC Spring 2010 Tech Fair
We are
seeking presenters for the
SPRING 2010
Tech Fair at West.
Workshops will take place in
February,
March,
April,
and May 2010.
Presenters are asked to
prepare for about one hour (about 45 minutes of presentation
and 15 minutes of questions and answers). The format is
flexible. The grants can fund $350 stipends to presenters
for developing and presenting their workshop. The real
benefit, though, will be the faculty-to-faculty exchanges as
we all learn more about what is possible in using technology
in our courses and student services.
Click
on the link below and fill out the presenter proposal form.
Deadline
is
Friday,
January 15, 2010.
Fill out your workshop description at
http://tinyurl.com/TechFairCallSpring2010.
For questions or more
information, contact Mary-Jo Apigo at
apigomj@wlac.edu.
Tech Fair is sponsored by Title V Cooperative along with our
cooperating partners, Harbor, Pierce, East, and Trade Tech

Flu Season Information
POTENTIAL CAMPUS
CLOSURES: As advised by the Center for Disease Control and the Los
Angeles Community College District administration, it is unlikely that
the campus will close in the event of student or employee being
diagnosed with the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu). Instead, the campus will
promote
healthy practices on campus. However, Faculty/Students should be
prepared to move into a distance learning format for class in the
event that the instructor and/or a large number of students become ill.
Faculty and students should be sure they have each other's respective
contact information. Please do report any suspected/confirmed case of
H1N1 (Swine Flu) to your supervisor/instructor. This information will be
kept confidential.
Instructors do have
the authority to ask students to leave the classroom who are clearly
ill.
This should be done discretely and students should be directed to the
