SCHOLAR-ATHLETES OF THE MONTH:

Taylor Mitchell - Women's Volleyball
Second-year student-athlete Taylor Mitchell has been one of the most dedicated athletes, hardest workers and toughest competitors on the Women's Volleyball team.  The Wildcats' primary setter, she was a bright light on a team that had a tough year.  As Team Captain, "Tay" served as an inspiration to her teammates and coaches in leading through her competitive example. Her career plan is to attain an A.A. from West and transfer to a CSU to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.....read more

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Grigsby - Football
Two-year football letterman Ryan Grigsby came to West as a standout offensive lineman from Crenshaw High.  Playing the majority of the snaps over a two year period, he only allowed two quarterback sacks from his position and led the “O” line in pancake blocks.  For his consistently outstanding performance, Ryan was recognized by conference coaches as a two-time All-Conference selection for the Southern California Football Association. In the classroom, Ryan excels as well, boasting a 3.05 GPA. He has numerous scholarship offers from four-year universities and will go through the recruiting process before making a decision and selecting a four-year institution to continue his academic and athletic career....read more
