Go West Wildcats!: The votes are in on the election of a new college athletic mascot and it was a landslide victory for the Wildcats with nearly 70% of faculty, staff and students voting for the Wildcat. The official debut of the new mascot is scheduled for the Fall Festival on October 29.

Thanks for the shout out Rashied!

In the introduction of the starting line-up, Rashied Davis, acknowledged his attendance at West Los Angeles College in Sunday's game (Sept. 28) against the Eagles where Chicago won 24 to 20. Davis is a Wide Receiver and caught two passes for 10 yards. After attending West, he transferred to San Jose State University.

Other notable West alumni in the NFL include Keyshawn Johnson, Isaac Bruce and Warren Moon.

HOW TO SUCCEED ONLINE

West is now offering a three week, 1 unit online course covering the basics of how to succeed in an online course. Education 230 (Section #8211 -- 11/3/08 to 11/23/08) serves to help new online instructors better empathize with and ensure the success of their online students. Wireless Network is now available on campus for students and employees in and 30ft from HLRC/Library, B6, Winlock Lounge and CE Main Office.

STUDENTS:    The network name is West Los Angeles Student Wireless Network.

                      User Name is the student ID#. Password is their PIN# (4-digit birth month and date).

EMPLOYEES: The employee network is West Los Angeles Employee Wireless Network.

A full roll out of wireless coverage is expected in the next month or two.
