"Children Are the Future" Exhibit Opening Ceremony

This exhibit, showcased on the 2nd floor of HLRC, runs Sept 15 - 26. Created by I-USA, it illustrates some of the pointes in the United Nations adopted resolution called "A World Fit for Children."

HOW TO SUCCEED ONLINE

West is now offering a three week, 1 unit online course covering the basics of how to succeed in an online course. Education 230 (Section #8211 -- 11/3/08 to 11/23/08) serves to help new online instructors better empathize with and ensure the success of their online students. CONGRATULATONS

The Phi Beta Lambda Club Resource Center recently opened in the HLRC thanks to a donation from Cengage Learning which donated over 60 textbooks. The donated texts include Business, Management, Law, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, and Career Readiness.

 

West welcomes John Michael Golterman as the new Dean of Student Services - Enrollment.  Golterman was previously Director of Recruiting and Admissions at the University of Southern California. He also participated in the LACCD Project Match program and taught “Media and the Law” at LA City College.

Goltermann is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of California and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. He is originally from Florida and he earned his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from New College of the University of South Florida.   

Goltermann will provide administrative leadership and management over the Admissions and Record Office, School Relations & Outreach Office, Jumpstart (early high school concurrent enrollment program), and the CAHSEE to College grant. The Dean also provides administrative supervision over the International Students Program and Veterans Office.
