Mascot Vote:  To kick off West's 40th Anniversary, we will be selecting a new mascot. Be part of history and vote. The first 100 voters will receive a commemorative WLAC 40th anniversary t-shirt.

 

CONGRATULATONS

The Phi Beta Lambda Club Resource Center recently opened in the HLRC thanks to a donation from Cengage Learning which donated over 60 textbooks. The donated texts include Business, Management, Law, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, and Career Readiness.

 

West welcomes Jawell Samilton as the new Full-time probationary Counselor in Intercollegiate Athletics. Samilton, a former collegiate football player, has worked as an instructor, assistant football coach and college counselor at several institutions. Samilton joined West last Fall as a full-time limited counselor for the Intercollegiate Athletics Dept.

 

MD Haque, Administrative Analyst, recently had two of his research papers accepted by prestigious conferences: “The Theory of Learned Change: A Critical Dimension of Leading Organizational Transformation” has been accepted for presentation at the International Leadership Association (ILA) on their 10th Annual Conference in Los Angeles, November 2008;  “The role of vision communication for effecting organizational change” has been accepted for publication and presentation at the International Academy of Business and Economics (IABE-2008) Las Vegas- Annual Conference in Las Vegas, October  2008.

 

CONDOLENCES

      Kit Bernard, an instructor in the Travel Department at West for 29 years, died in August. A memorial / party in his honor will be held Saturday, Sept 13 at Burton Chase Park in the Community Room -- 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.
