NEW LACCD HEALTH BENEFITS CALL CENTER

Effective July 1, 2008 you will call the new LACCD Health Benefits Call Center at 1-888-428-­2980 whenever you have a question about eligibility, enrollment, or any of your benefit plans. A specially trained member of the LACCD Health Benefits Center will be available to help you from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.  All correspondence, applications, payments and requested supporting documents for enrollment to the LACCD Health Benefits Call Center located at: LACCD Health Benefits Center |  770 Wilshire Boulevard, 6th floor |  LA, CA 90017

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association provides scholarships from $1000 to $1500 for students with a career goal with a nexus to Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or Forensics.  Applications are due August 5, 2008.

 NEW ASSIGNMENTS UPDATE

Limited Instructor Special Assignments in basic skills and instructional technology--

 

Announcements of the positions were posted at West and circulated district wide in May for the required posting period for five limited assignments in basic skills and instructional technology with full job descriptions and information about how to apply.  All applications were reviewed and considered. After consultation with the Chair of the Basic Skills Committee and the Academic Senate President, Lloyd Thomas and Eloise Crippens, the following assignments have been made:

 

Joanna Ratkovich: Develop a college plan for Reading for Basic Skills students.

Curt Riesberg:       Director of the Basic Skills Program Initiatives: 

                             UMOJA, FACE, & Learning Cntr.

Nancy Sander:      Develop a college plan for ESL for Basic Skills students.

Mary-Jo Apigo:     Coordinate instructional technology and faculty development in the

                             Title V Cooperative grant between Pierce College and West.

Diane Matsuno:     Develop a college plan for instructional technology for basic skills.

 

There will be more to hear from them in the course of Basic Skills Committee and Instructional Technology Committee meetings.  If you have ideas or concerns, please feel free to share them directly with the assigned persons.
