OUR SCHOLAR ATHLETES

Congratulations to Amy Melendez ( Women's Soccer) and Korey Bowles (Football). Melendez has been one of the mainstays of our team, and has played an integral role in the program building efforts while maintaining a 3.73 GPA. She plans to transfer to a university and pursue a career in Architecture. Bowles has lettered in both track and football where he plays wide-receiver. With a 3.64 GPA, he will be a mid-year graduate. After completing his Bachelor's at a university, he plans to become an investment banker.

1ST PLACE TEAM & MVP!

Kudos to Christian Smith who was part of the 1st place team and voted Most Valuable Player at the recent Annual Men of Color Student Leadership Institute. The event was produced by the Minority Male Initiative Of the President's Council. "Prior to the conference, I knew what teamwork meant, however, I was ignorant on how to apply the concept in a real-life situation. I had never been fond of group projects, typically because I don’t trust another person’s contributions with my grade on the line. At this conference, I learned just the opposite. I learned that if you want to get the grade of your choice, while working with others, you have to get them involved the best way possible," said Smith.
