50TH T-SHIRTS

In honor of our 50th anniversary, we're spreading around the swag. You may already have attended an event where #feelingGOLD wristband were passed out.

Next up are t-shirts! These #feelingGOLD shirts will be distributed to interested faculty at Convocation and will be delivered to staff in their offices. Managers, please watch for an email regarding collection of names and sizes of staff who would like a t-shirt.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS NEEDED

The WLAC Food Pantry assists food-insecure students and the need is great. Please consider donating canned goods, non-perishable food and hygiene products. The Pantry is housed in the ASO (A-9) building and accepts donations Mon - Thur, 9:30am - 2:00pm - Thank You!

Especially needed are:

Bottled water, Juice boxes, Health bars, Healthy snacks, Vegan items, Individual cereal boxes, Soups, Deodorant, Wipes, Financial contributions.

HOW TO ADD A CLASS...

If you are trying to register for a class that is full or enroll in the class after the semester has started, you will need to use the "Add a Class" process.
Request a PERMISSION NUMBER from the instructor. If given, then logon to the Student Portal to enter the number to be added to the course.

For traditional classes, attend the class to request a PERMISSION NUMBER. For online classes, email the instructor to request a number - view email addresses.

The last day to add with a Permission Number is Sat, Sept. 8 - see Academic Calendar

The last day to drop a 16-week class with a refund / owing no fee Sept 7. For other "Last day to..." dates, check the Student Portal. Select the ACADEMICS MENU then CLASS SCHEDULE. Click the "i" icon to the right of your class which will bring up a page with dates.

PROF. BRACH FEATURED IN LA WEEKLY

Congratulation to Prof. Eric Brach who, along with his new book, was featured in LAWeekly. "Double Lives: True Tales of the Criminals Next Door" is a true-crime non-fiction work about criminals who prey on their neighbors. Listen for Brach on the true-crime podcast / radio show "True Crime Fan Club." Prof. Brach is the director of the law enforcement prep program POPP at West. He also teaches Administration of Justice and English.

GEOCATCH IS COMING TO WEST!

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor adventure that is happening all the time, all around the world. To play, participants use the Geocaching app to navigate to cleverly hidden containers called geocaches. Follow us on Instagram for more details. The game starts in September.

#feelingGOLD

In 1980, Assistant Coach Hill was WLAC's center fielder AND was named CA Jr. College Co-Player of the Year! This left-handed swinger batted .420 and had a slugging percentage of .672, 6 doubles, 6 triples, 5 home runs and led the State with a whopping 52 RBI. Hill held 22 school records. Now he's sharing his skill and experience with today's Wildcats.
