H1N1 VIRUS - WLAC RESPONSE (page 2) |
WLAC Student Health Center is a free on-campus resource for students and employees.
Instructors have the authority to ask students to leave the classroom who are clearly ill and maybe coughing, sneezing or otherwise exposing the class to an illness. Instructors are asked to do so discretely and direct the student to the WLAC Student Health Center.
Should you contract the H1N1 virus, please report it to your instructor/supervisor. This will allow the campus to take any appropriate steps needed. (Note: any such report would be treated confidentially). Supervisors, please notify your Vice President of any reports of H1N1 illness. They will contact Michelle Long-Coffee, Director of PR/Advertising.

STUDENTS: In the event that your class would need to convert from an on campus to a distance learning format, you will be contacted by your instructor or other representative from Academic Affairs. Be sure that your instructor has accurate contact information for you and that you have your instructor's contact information. In the unlikely event of campus closure, information will be posted on the web site at www.wlac.edu or from your mobile phone visit www.wlac.edu/mobile. Signs would also be posted at the campus entrance and you will receive an automated phone call with information. INSTRUCTORS: Please be sure to gather students' contact information at the outset of class. And, make a contingency plan for if your class needed to be conducted remotely. (see President's Update from May 6, 2009 for suggestions)
