GOODBYE TO . . .

Westside Extension staff member ELIA SEGURA ("Ellie") died on August 20 after loosing her battle with brain cancer. Described as warm, generous and caring, she had worked on various campuses, including West, for 38 years. She was thankful to all of her West colleagues who donated vacation or ill time on her behalf. A memorial service will be held by the family on Saturday, Sept. 25 @ 11:00am at Glendale Forest Lawn Cemetery - Little Church of Flowers | 1712 S. Glendale Ave. | Glendale, CA 91205.  Comments to the family may be posted at http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/latimes/obituary.aspx?n=elia-violeta-segura&pid=144960164&fhid=10622

Long-time West staff member GENEAT WALTON resigned, effective August 27 to pursue other opportunities in Texas. She said "it has been a wonderful experience for me working in the educational arena for twenty-five years.  “Life has truly been a journey” for me, and I am excited about this new adventure.  I will miss your smiling faces; however, I wish the best for West as you continue to “go far” in developing great leaders."
