Welcome
The First and Only State Approved Network Security Program in the Los Angeles Community College District
The Computer Science and Application Division offers courses in two disciplines: Computer Application Office Technology (CAOT) and Computer Science Information Technology (CSIT). CAOT offers an A.A. degree and Certificate in Office Administration. CSIT offers an A.A. degree and Certificate in three pathways: Computer Science, Application Software and/or the newly-approved vocational program, Computer Network & Security Management.
Within CSIT, Computer Science courses are designed primarily for students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue studies in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering. Application Software and Computer Network & Security Management programs are intended for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to pursue studies in the Management Information Systems (MIS) area. In addition, these pathways enable students to design and develop websites, manage and maintain database systems, and implement and administer computer network and security. These programs lead to career opportunities as web master, database administrator and network & security administrator.
We offer Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA training courses to prepare students to successfully complete industry Certification Exams. Skills Certificates for job placement or advancement will be awarded to students who complete the required courses. Skills Training for Certificates in Office Administration, Computer Network Management and Computer Network Security are currently available. A Certificate in Web Development will be offered soon.
