The Child Development Center is a nurturing place for children of WLAC student-parents. It is licensed by the DPSS Community Care Licensing. The Center provides a low cost, safe, positive learning environment for student’s children. Children ages 2-5 years are offered a developmentally appropriate curriculum, preparing them for the elementary education. Applications are available in the Counseling Center, EOP&S, the Workforce Development Office and the Child Development Center, which is located south of the flagpole.

Ages of Children:

  • Ages 2-5 years accepted into the M-Th 8AM. – 4PM program.

Note: Children must attend a minimum of 2 sessions a week in the day program and 1 session per week in the evening program. Student tuition ranges from $1.00 - 2.50 per hour and is based on total family income and size.  Staff and community family rates are from $3.00-5.00 per hour. Qualifying families may be placed on a grant from Cal-WORKS and/or the State of California, to reimburse tuition.


The Center is a training program for students wishing to pursue a career in teaching young children.
