Team Update

The West Los Angeles Baseball team began the 2007-2008 Season with a win at Saddleback College and they ended the season with a win at home-vs-Citrus College on Thursday, May 1st.  Freshman sensation, Kesley Kondo, the ace of the pitching staff, threw a complete game shut out for a 2-0 victory over the Owls of Citrus. Sis departing sophomores were introduced and honored prior to the start of the game at the beautiful new baseball diamond on the West LA campus.  These sophomores provided the leadership for a young team playing in their first season of competition after Bringing Back Baseball at West after a 21 year absence.  The sport was dropped in 1987 due to budgetary reasons and then brought back with the guidance and passion for athletics by new President, Dr. Mark Rocha.

This team, under the leadership of Head Coach Bob Grant, has laid down a solid foundation with which to build a quality and successful baseball program in coming years.  Excitement is running high on campus about the bright and dynamic future for baseball at West Los Angeles College.
