IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROVIDER (IHSS) A great way to get started in the healthcare field is by becoming an In-Home Supportive Services Provider. An IHSS is a non-licensed healthcare worker who assists elderly and disabled individuals in their own home with basic daily and support services. The IHSS certificate program is made up of two noncredit classes, Voc Ed 400CE & 408CE, and lasts 13 weeks (108 hours). Tuition for the classes are FREE but students must pay for books and materials. Classes and are conducted as pass/fail and no credit or grades are given. Students who earn their certificate can move forward with the CNA and Home Health Aide programs.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) & HOME HEALTH AIDE (HHA) Our Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate program (Nursing 399A) is a 9-week class that offers everything you need to become eligible for employment as a Nursing Assistant in a variety of settings. Most students choose to follow the CNA class with the 4-week Certified Home Health Aide course (Nursing 399B) to be eligible to work with homebound individuals and in assisted living facilities. |

GERIATRIC CARE Each year, the RDHAP Program offers a Spring and Fall Symposium:
The March (or Spring) Symposium highlights RDHAP Owner Independent Practice. In the morning, speakers discuss RDHAP, starting a practice, and patient care delivery. The RDHAP scope of practice and requirements for licensure are presented.
The afternoon focuses on Denti-Cal; current billing practices, covered benefits, and how to avoid billing errors. The speaker, a Denti-Cal provider training expert, will provide on-line resources, and the most current information about California’s Denti-Cal program. It is designed for current and future RDHAPs.
The October (or Fall) Symposium provides participants with 3 hours of CE credit. In the morning, speakers discuss RDHAP, starting a practice, and patient care delivery. The RDHAP scope of practice and requirements for licensure are presented.
In the afternoon following the Symposium, an RDHAP BUSINESS PLANNING EVENT provides hands-on, practical education to operate a successful RDHAP practice. Tuition is $300 and is applicable towards tuition of the RDHAP program. Participants receive 2 hours of CE credit.
