allied health general classes

We currently offer the following introductory/general classes that are appropriate for all students. These 5-week classes have no prerequisites.

 

INTRODUCTION TO CAREERS IN HEALTH OCCUPATIONS (ALLIED HEALTH 012):

This class provides an in-depth overview of a number of careers in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacology, emergency health and other healthcare professions.

 

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT FOR THE HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (ALLIED HEALTH 021):

A professionally-oriented class with information also useful to anyone caring for a loved one or friend, in this class you will learn how to provide infant, child, and 1- and 2-rescuer CPR.

 

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY (ALLIED HEALTH 033):

Have you ever been to the doctor and found it difficult to understand what they were explaining? This class is for anyone interested in learning the language of healthcare for professional or personal use.
