Major Code 2204.00
In spring,
2006, our program was approved by the California Community
Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and in spring, 2007, it was
accredited by the California Association of Alcohol and Drug
Abuse Educators (CAADE). We have a 37 unit, two year
certificate program with an AA option that will prepare
students with all necessary coursework to qualify them to
take the CAADE written exam. Some of the Alcohol and Drug
courses may be used as an elective course for an AA degree
in Psychology, and some are general education electives.
Some may be used for continuing education for clinical
licensees or public safety professions. Not all classes are
offered every semester but alternate semesters. With the
exception of the two fieldwork classes, all courses transfer
to the California State University schools, and three
courses transfer to University of California schools.
