Alcohol and Drug Studies - Degrees & Certificates

Major Code 2204.00

In spring 2001, Psychology 64 was introduced and marked the beginning of our program. We have been adding courses yearly until in spring 2006, we attained the complete 36 unit two-to-three year certificate program with an AA option that will prepare students with all necessary coursework to qualify them to take the written exam for the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Educators (CAADE).

Our program was approved by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office on March 13, 2006. Some of the Alcohol and Drug courses may be used as an elective course for an AA degree in Psychology, and some are general education electives. Some may be used for continuing education for clinical licensees or public safety professions. Not all classes are offered every semester but alternate semesters such as Psychology 63 and 67.
