Sandra V. Serrano, Chancellor of the Kern Community College District, oversees the largest geographic community college service area in California. President-elect of the Community College League of California Chief Executive Officers, she is also a member of the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office Consultation Council and sits on the executive board of the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium. This renowned educator, the daughter of field workers who championed education, is President of the Kern County Hispanic Educators and is a member of Board of Directors of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Trustees of the Kern High School District, Board of Directors of the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Advisory Council of the Girl Scouts Joshua Tree Council. Serrano, who holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley and a juris doctorate from Hastings College of Law, was named an Education Policy Fellow by The Institute for Educational Leadership. She is a former president of Bakersfield College. |

Dr. Greg Chamberlain was recently appointed Associate Chancellor, Educational Services for the Kern Community College District. Previously, he served as Dean of Learning Resources and Information Technology for Bakersfield College. He has also served as Director of Instructional Technology, Faculty Chair of Computer Studies and Professor of Computer Studies at Bakersfield College. Dr. Chamberlain, who is the Team Assistant for this visit, has been faculty co-chair for standards in two previous college accreditations. |

Anne Bevilacqua has taught sociology at Solano Community College since 1990 and was honored as that institution's “Distinguished Faculty” in 1997.She served on her college's Self Study team for Accreditation in 2005, and in 2005, she served on the accreditation team for Sacramento City College. Bevilacqua, who holds a B.A. and an M.A. in social sciences from Mills College, has taught sociology at Sonoma State University, Mills College, Columbia College and Vista College. She serves on the Academic Senate of Solano Community College. |

Mazie Brewington has served as controller of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District since July 2002. Previously, she was the Business and Administrative Services manager for Laney College in Oakland, California. Brewington, who earned her MBA degree from Troy State University, served on the accreditation team for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and has been involved with two self studies in her current and former districts. |

Suzanne Korey is both the interim Dean of Contract Education and Vocational Education Program Coordinator at Castro Valencia College. Previously, she served as interim Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. Korey has also been Department Chair of Graphic Communications and Chair of Journalism. She holds an M.A. in Industrial Education from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin. |

Mona Lee has served as the Dean of Student Services at Kapi'olani Community College in Honolulu, Hawaii since 1995. Since 1998, she has also served as the Dean of Developmental Studies. Prior to assuming her position as Dean, she served as the Coordinator of the Counseling Center. A former counselor and a financial aid counselor, she holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in educational psychology. |

Dr. Kenneth Meehan is Director of Institutional Research at Fullerton College and President-elect of the Research and Planning Group for California Community Colleges. The former editor of the “RP eJournal of Research, Planning and Practice,” he has served as the Southwest Regional Director of the National Council for Research and Planning. He has also served on the National Joint Commission on Accountability Reporting, statewide Transfer data Technical Workgroup, AB 1417 Technical Workgroup, Environmental Scan Workgroup for the System Strategic Plan. Currently, he sits on the Advisory Committee for the National Study of Community College Instructional Costs and Productivity, the Accountability and Research for Community Colleges Implementation Workgroup (AB 1417). He holds a B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from Georgetown University , California State University, Fullerton and the University of Hawaii respectively. |

Celebrating her 15th anniversary at San Bernardino Valley College this year, Marie Mestas has seen her college from three sides: as a student, faculty member and now as Dean of Learning Resources. Graduating from UCLA's Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 1987, she was first employed as a government documents librarian for San Bernardino County before moving to San Bernardino Valley College in 1991. Between 1991 and 1997, she served in almost every librarian position at the college, from reference to acquisitions to technical service, and she began teaching in the Library technician program, which she still does. Appointed interim dean in 1997, she served in that capacity until 2003, when she was selected as the permanent dean.

Mike Pecsok is the Dean of Academic Services at Leeward Community College in Pearl City, Hawaii. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and M.Ed. in Educational communication and technology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has taught courses in communications, photography and television production at California State University, Fullerton, Pepperdine University and Leeward Community College. He has consulted extensively in educational communications and distance education for government and educational institutions in the Pacific islands and Asia and has been a principal Investigator for Title III and other federal and state grants. Since 1978, he has been at Leeward College Community College as faculty, department chair and for the last seven years as an administrator. |

Dr. Paulette J. Perfumo is Superintendent-President of Solano Community College in Fairfield, California. Previously, she was the Deputy/Vice President for Educational Services at Ohlone College in Fremont, California. For six years she worked at the cabinet level in the Chancellor's Office of the California Community Colleges as the Administrator of Vocational Education and Economic Development. Dr. Perfumo has also served as a Dean at Sierra College and Vice President at Lassen College. Dr. Perfumo has taught at the University of Oregon, College of the Canyons and Sierra College. She earned her masters degree in education and Ph.D. in higher education administration from UCLA. This esteemed educator serves as a director on the Solano County Workforce Investment Board and sits on the Executive Board of the Solano Economic Development Corporation
