Join the rewarding and growing field of autism treatment! 

Get the training and experience you need to become part of a team delivering behavioral interventions to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  ASD is a neuro-developmental disorder that emerges in early childhood.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with ASD in the United States.

Autism Technician Job Growth & Demand

Recent policy changes have created a growing demand for autism technicians. Apply your newly developed skills, discover a natural career path, and earn up to $12-18 per hour full or part-time with the flexibility to continue your education.  Gain valuable on-the-job experience during the course. Students who successfully complete the course will have the training and experience required to be eligible to take the exam to become a Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT). Student Eligibility and Requirements

  • Desire to work with children with special needs
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18 years of age and social security card (for employment)
  • Complete a Program Application and submit all supplemental documents (see application checklist)
  • Negative TB skin test
  • Pass a criminal background check (approx. $60)
  • Abide by uniform and appearance requirements during internship.
  • Ability to travel to the local practicum site.

Course Information*

  • Allied Health 25A* - Lecture
  • Allied health 25B* - 36 hours of internship to be scheduled alongside a behavioral therapist
  • $120 textbook and web access fee
