West Los Angeles College!
“Just do it.”
These words personified the atmosphere at West Los Angeles College over 45 years ago, coined by President Heldman (long before Nike) as he and his fledgling staff faced the gargantuan task of creating, literally from scratch, a new college to serve the citizens of Los Angeles.
This proactive attitude still prevails on West’s campus today, as witnessed by committed faculty and staff, beautiful facilities, and a multitude of programs and services that singularly focus on you as a West student.
I encourage you to immerse yourself in what West has to offer: from its outstanding distance education program (the second-largest in California) and its new bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene to its wide array of challenging academic programs and comprehensive student services. Most importantly, take advantage of the dedication of our faculty and staff, who are here to help, to advise, and most importantly, to listen to you and to assist you in any way possible.
Our motto--“Go West. Go Far”— truly represents our conviction that building a strong educational foundation at West will be a catalyst for your future success. On behalf of the entire West community, thank you for choosing our college as the start of an exciting journey.
President, West Los Angeles College
